Creating a Conflict-Free Non-Formal Education Learning Environment in Nigeria
Abstract
Non-formal education is considered as an alternative form of education in which all and sundry are provided opportunities to acquire information, knowledge, skills and competence outside the formal school system. Education provided via non-formal system allows individual to learn, unlearn and relearn at his/her pace, needs and circumstance. The system makes learning flexible, utilitarian and needbased where everyone is considered as an important stakeholder for effective learning to take place. Adult and non-formal education according to Yusuf (2021) has received recognition since colonial era as an important educational system in Nigeria in which those who do not have opportunities to acquire basic education at their early stage in life do so with activities provided through non-formal education.
